Betty Hein Honored at Vernal Funeral Services

Betty Hein died at age 68. She was born on February 5, 1902 in Nuernberg, Germany to George Friedrich and Pauline Hoehne Strecker. She was one of 14 children and worked diligently as a delivery girl in a cobbler supply shop as a child during World War I. She left Germany March 28, 1928 at 26 years old and arrived in Vernal on April 12, 1928. She spoke no English at the time. Sixteen months later she married Mr. Hein June 20, 1929 in the Salt Lake Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. After Betty Hein died, she was buried in the Vernal Memorial Park Cemetery.
