Retinal migraine is defined by The International Classification of Headache Disorders (ICHD), 3rd edition, as an aura consisting of fully reversible monocular visual phenomena, accompanied or followed within 60 minutes by headache. ICHD states that while cases without headache have been reported, migraine cannot be ascertained as the underlying etiology. We report a case of prolonged acephalgic visual aura complicated by retinal infarction and severe visual loss, preceded by 35-year history of retinal migraines. |
