Description Positive scotoma is subjectively perceived as a dark spot in the visual field, and of which the patient is aware and it is usually an indicator of retinal involvement; opposed to the negative scotoma, which tends to go unnoticed and is detected by examining the visual field. In patients with papilledema, the blind spot is enlarged due to involvement of the peripapillary retina. In this setting, we performed Amsler grid test to our patients with papilledema.
