Description |
Homonymous hemianopia (HH) is a visual impairment resulting from damage to the primary visual cortex which presents as a loss of vision in both eyes affecting the contralateral visual hemifield. Despite affecting 20-57% of stroke victims, there is currently no widely accepted treatment available for HH. Here we report the results of an industry sponsored, multi-center, randomized, controlled clinical trial (RCT). This RCT investigated the effect of motion discrimination training within cortically blind fields on standard clinical measures of visual performance, including standard automated perimetry, Macular Integrity Assessment Perimetry, Ocular Coherence Tomography, motion discrimination performance, and visual quality of life questionnaires. |
