Date of Construction: 1958 Building Type: Church/Meetinghouse Building Style: Post-war Colonial Revival Foundation Material: concrete Wall Material(s): brick Alterations: none minor x_ major (describe below) Additions: _ none ..K.. minor _ major (describe below) No. of contributing outbuildings and/or structures: 0 No. of non-contributing outbuildings and/or structures: 2 This brick LDS Meetinghouse was constructed in 1958 in a Modernist style with vertical lines accentuated by a very tall modem steeple. Although the vertical lines that carry through the fenestration from the first to the second floor remain on the primary elevation, all of the windows in the building have been replaced and stucco panels have been created between the windows of the first and second floor. All of the windows on the southwest wing of the building have been bricked in with only a small window remaining. There is an addition of an exterior staircase on the north elevation and a large shed-roofed awning constructed at the rear (west) of the building. The most dramatic alteration, however, was the replacement of the steeple. The very tall modernist spire has been replaced with a shorter colonial style steeple. This alteration of such a character defining feature changes the look of the building to a Post-war Colonial Revival building, which it was not when constructed. 5 PROPOSED ACTION The project limits extends along SR-111 for approximately 1.4 miles between SR-201 (MP 10.5) to 3500 South (MP 9.1); and along SR-201 for approximately 0.6 miles between 8000 West (MP 7.1) and SR-111 (MP 7.7). Within the project limits, SR-III consists of one northbound and one southbound travel lane. This section of SR-111 has been identified as a choke point and based on the results of a traffic analysis, improvements to the corridor are needed to provide for current and future travel demands. Accordingly, this project is proposing to widen and install one additional travel lane in each direction between SR-201 and 2700 South (approximately 0.5 miles). The project is also proposing intersection modifications at SR201lSR-111 which include installation of an additionallef't-tum lane, for the SR-201 westbound to SR-l11 southbound movement, with an accompanying auxiliary lane between 8000 West and SR-111; and extension of the existing right-tum acceleration lane, for the SR-111 northbound to SR-201 eastbound movement, into an auxiliary lane ending at 8000 West (see attached exhibits). Additional components of the project would include standard roadway reconstruct items such as: a rotomill and overlay of SR-l11 from 2700 South to 3500 South; upgrades to pedestrian ramps, drainage, ATMS, curb and gutter, sidewalks, and raised median; and installation of new signage and pavement markings.
