He developed most of the homes in this cul-de-sac. The first occupant of the home was Gerald and Cynthia Turner. They purchased the home 10-05-1961. Their original mortgage for the home was $23,300. They lived in the home until 11-30-1990. It was purchased on that date by Ralph and Patricia Knapp. In 1990 Ralph and Patricia Knapp had a mortgage of $175,000. Since Gerald and Cynthia Turner were the first occupants of the home the historical name of the residence is the Turner Gerald Residence. This is a ranch style home. It has always served as a single family residence. The exterior wall material is brick. The home has a small amount of vinyl siding in the eves. The roofing material is asphalt shingle. The home is cooled by a swamp cooler. The foundation wall material is concrete. The landscaping is comprised of poplar trees on the sides and back of the home. The front of the house has two raised grass platforms. The front has a deep window well walkout from a basement bedroom. The back of the house has a combination of grass, concrete, and gravel. The home is in a cul-de-sac. A detached garage was added in the late 1970's east of the home. The detached garage is made from brick with a concrete foundation and asphalt roof. The front elevation which is the east face of the building is made from brick. The original building had a garage on the southernmost side of the front elevation. The garage was made into a family room in the late 1970's. The front door extends the farthest out from the house and is left of center of the front fa~ade. The windows were replaced at some point and now are made from vinyl. The north side of the home is approx.12'-O" wide between the house the fence. The fence is made of wood slates. The wall has no windows and is made of brick. There is a concrete staircase and entrance into a bedroom from this side elevation. The back of the home was given an addition in 1973. Records ofthis addition can be found in the documentation. The addition and the back fa~ade is made from brick and is facing West. A low slopping roof covers a good portion of a concrete patio. The South side of the home is approx. 18'_0" wide between the house and the fence. The fence is made from wood. This side of the home is made from brick and there is an entrance to the basement from this face. The wall has two small windows that look into the upstairs pantry and bathroom. A major addition to the home occurred in 1973 and plans can be seen in the notes. Two rooms were added on to the back, one room was given more depth, and the kitchen was remodeled. Another major addition occurred in the late 1970's in which the detached garage was built and the existing garage was changed into the family room. The home is one story tall with a basement. It has a total of 16 rooms. There are 6 bedrooms in the home each with a different color carpet. There is 1 full bath, 2 % baths, and 1 half bath. There is 1 kitchen upstairs 1 downstairs. There is a large storage room that is entered by a secrete passage behind the bookshelf. There are 6 fireplaces in the building. The address of the home is 2725 Blackburn Circle, Holladay, UT. The official Plat name is Lot 5, Blackburn Sub and consists of .25 acres. History Joseph C. Blackburn originally constructed this home July 18, 1961. Joseph developed most of the homes in the cull-de-sac. He named the street Blackburn Circle after his last name. Joseph sold the home a few months later October OS, 1961 to Gerald and Cynthia Turner. Gerald Turner had many different jobs. One of his jobs was purchasing a railroad car of tailings from the Kennecott mine and sifting out the chips of platinum. He would sell the platinum for thousands of dollars. Gerald did many remodels on the house many of which he never went for building permits. The most major remodel happened in 1973 in which Gerald extend the back rooms of the house. He later constructed a detached garage in the late 70's and changed the existing garage to a family room . The home was purchased by Patricia and Ralph Knap in 1990 for $175,000. Ralph is a psychologist and Patty is the mother of nine children. They live in North Salt Lake currently and the home is for sale . The home is currently be ing sold for $500,000.
