Abstract The American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) Neuro-Ophthalmology Subspecialty Day took place on October 12, 2019, in San Francisco, California (Fig.1). The session was entitled "Diagnostic Errors and Challenges-Avoid the Traps!" There were approximately 318 attendees. Section 1 featured cases involving vision loss and included a riveting "Point-Counter-Point"between Drs. Lynn Gordon, Andrew Lee, Norah Lincoff, and Mark Moster who discussed the utility of extensive laboratory workup for all new cases of optic neuritis. Section 2 entitled"Bugs and Drugs-Do They Matter?" included cases of amiodarone-associated bilateral optic neuropathy, giant cell arteritis, nonspecific orbital inflammation, pseudotumor cerebri in the setting of minocycline use,and syphilitic optic neuropathy.
