The University of Utah track and field team closed out competition Saturday at the UW Invitational led by juniors Grayson Murphy and Hannah McInturff and freshman Amanda Gehrich, who all cracked into the top-10 all-time indoor records in Utah history. Gehrich recorded the fourth fastest time in the mile run in Utah indoor history, clocking in a 4:49.33 to earn 17th place overall. In the 3000-meter run, Utah was led by junior Grayson Murphy after she recorded a top-20 performance and landed fourth all-time in Utah indoor history after finishing in a time of 9:29.71 to earn 18th place. Junior Hannah McInturff recorded a personal best time of 9:35.89, which also landed her sixth all-time in Utah indoor history in the 3000. McInturff placed 29th overall. Junior Jessica Sams completed the race in a time of 9:44.68 to earn a 38th place finish. Rounding out the 3000-meter run for Utah was senior Becky Sarmiento, who finished the race with a time of 9:51.92 to place 47th, while also recording her personal best in the 3000-meter run. Sophomore Caitlin Faust competed in the 800-meter run for the Utes where she placed 28th, finishing the race in a time of 2:14.11. Sophomore Sadie Wassum and freshman Poppy Tank were also featured in the mile. Wassum and Tank finished in 53rd and 54th places, respectively. Wassum finished the race in a time of 5:02.51 and Tank finished with a time of 5:03.3. |
