It was reasonable to ex-poct that there would be a slight flareup following the mingling of people in numbers downtown prior to Christmas, but, while this increase was not entirely unexpected, it is important that it should not be permitted to continue. There arc two methuds of combating influenza. One is by putting a ban on tho town, which will paralyze business of all sorts and fnvolve the ability and lessen the' capacity of the average man to earn a living for himself and his family. This method is only partially efficacious. The other method is by tho isolation of tho individual who has This method tho disease. contracted has been found to be highly efficacious. Hence, the people of this community, or any other menaced by this disease mid who wish to stamp it out as far-as humanly possible, have tho option of two choices; either to suspend all forms of business and public meetings, or tp restrain the individual who is sick.
