Show November, 1917 In the quartermaster's department and went direct to Camp Jackson, Fla.. where ho had sinco been. The young man was 23 years of age and is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. David A. Drown, three brothers and one sister. He was a native of Midvale. Tho body will be brought to Midvale for funeral services and interment. Bert Oakley was born In American Fork twonty-five years ago, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Oakey. "Ho left American Fork for Fort Logan, Colo., three weeks ago to enter training with a number of other limited service men. Last Saturday the parents received a message from Boulder announcing that the young man was critically ill with Influenza. They loft on an afternoon train for his be'dside, but he died before they reached him. The body is expected to arrive In American Fork tomorrow. oo THREE SOLDIERS -DIE OF THE 'FLO' SALT LAKE, Oct. 22 Spanish influenza has claimed three more Utah soldier boys. Samuel Elmer Howard of Riverlon is den.d in France; Corporal J. Earl Drown of Midvale passed away Sunday at Camp Jackson, Fla., and Bert Oakey of American Fork succum bed to the dlseaso Sunday at Fort Logan, Colo. Mr. Howard, who was born at River-1 j 1 ton twonty-six years ago, was .the son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel II. Howard. He enlisted May 15, 1018, with tho engineers and went first to Boulder, Colo., where he remained for six weeks, going from there to Fort Dodge, Iowa, and from there to New York. He had only been tn Franco a few weeks at tho time of his death which occurred on October 2. In addition to hi3 parents, Mr. Howard is survived by three brothers and three sisters. One of tho brothers Is Lorenzo M. Howard, 22 years of age, who Is a sharpshooter with iho American forces in France. Corporal J. Earl Drown enlisted in |
