Description Herpes Zoster Ophthalmicus (HZO) is a reactivation of varicella zoster virus (VZV) affecting the ophthalmic division of the trigeminal nerve. Rarely, VZV leads to severe sequelae such as Orbital Apex Syndrome (OAS), affecting cranial nerves II-VI.
