Description Invasive mycosis is historically considered a disease of the immunocompromised, however, there are reports in immunocompetent patients. The most common etiology of sino-orbital invasive mycosis is mucor, and rarely aspergillus. Invasive mycosis has high morbidity and mortality, therefore, high clinical suspicion of invasive mycosis is warranted in cases of rapidly progressive orbital apex syndrome.
