Erianne Allen, Shanae Nixon and Kristy Slade all placed in the top five in the heptathlon. Allen placed first with 4,714 points follwed by Nixon in second place with 4,550 points. Slade finished fifth with 4,359 points. Allen moves into second place and Nixon into fourth on Utah's all time top-performance list. Mindy Wilder was the Utes top finisher in the javelin placing second with a throw of 135 feet, three inches. Allen finished third in the javelin (118' 9.0") and ninth in the high jump (5' 1.00"). Nixon placed sixth in the javelin (95' 0.0") and second in the high jump (5' 5.00"). And Slade placed seventh in the javelin (91' 9.00") and second in the long jump (161'.0.0"). Katherina Gallahar placed third in the hammer throw (159' 2.0") in her first competition of the year. |
