Our office administers the historic rehabilitation tax credit, which is a 20% state income tax credit for residential properties, or a 20% federal income tax credit for income-producing properties. I have enclosed fact sheets on both of these. The Utah Heritage Foundation, a non-profit preservation advocacy group, administers low-interest loans for rehabilitation, and you can contact them at 801/533-0858. There are possibly other grants or incentives that could apply to your situation. Infonnation on these can be found on the state web site: http://www.dced.state.ut.us/grants.html In order for you to receive the income tax credit or the low-interest loan, the house must be listed on the National Register of Historic Places. After checking our database I found out that the house is not yet listed. However, when an architectural survey was completed in Springville in1985, the house was given an "A" evaluation, meaning that it appeared eligible for National Register listing. If no major alteration has occurred on the building it could still be eligible. After you have looked at the available infonnation please contact either Wilson Martin or myself if you have other questions. Wilson can be reached at 8011533-3552, or at wmartin@history.state.ut.us. You can reach me at 8011533-3559 or at cjensen@history.state.ut.us . J. Cory nsen Architectural HistorianlNational Register Coord.
