Final Score DAY ONE: The Utah 4x1600-meter relay team captured second overall as the Ute track and field team competed in the first day of the Drake Relays. Competing in the sole event of the day for Utah was the 4x1600-meter relay team. The relay comprised of Hannah McInturff, Nicole Rietz, Sadie Wassum and Sarah Feeny recorded a time of 19:39.85 and Utah's best finish in a relay at Drake since capturing the distance medley event title in 2011. McInturff led off the race with a split of 4:48, followed by Rietz. Sadie Wassum took the reigns on the third leg and Feeny finished strong with a split of 4:50. DAY TWO: The Utah 4x800-meter relay team earned second overall as the Ute track and field team wrapped up the second day of action at the Drake Relays. Sophomore Hannah McInturff led Utah at the Kip Janvrin Open, capturing second in the 1,500. Earning second-place for the second time this weekend was the Utah distance core. The 4x800-meter relay team comprised of Andrea Chavez, Allison Aafedt, Grace Englund and Ali Eisenbeiss recorded a time of 8:38.11 to capture second overall.The Utes continued their success in the 4x400, finishing 11th overall. The relay comprised of Alissa Atisme, Grace Englund, Aafedt, and Eisenbeiss just missed qualifying for the finals tomorrow after recording a time of 3:42.72. The javelin featured true freshman Chrissy Glasmann. Glasmann placed 12th overall after throwing a distance of 139 feet, 11.52 inches. Junior Alissa Atisme represented Utah in the 100-meter dash, recording a time of 12.05 seconds to claim 24th. FINAL DAY: The University of Utah distance medley relay team clocked the fastest time in the country to set the school-record at Utah to win its second ever championship in the 107 year history of the Drake Relays. The distance medley relay team caught the spotlight with its school-record time of 11:12.10. Senior leader Andrea Chavez kicked off the race, completing the first leg (1200m) in 3:30. Alissa Atisme followed with a solid performance in the 400-meter leg as she kept the Utes in the front of the pack with a time of 53 seconds. Senior Ali Eisenbeiss ran the third leg (800m) with a split of 2:08 and placed Utah securely in second place. In the final leg of the event, Sarah Feeny closed the gap between Utah and Baylor. Feeny ran a 1600-meter split of 4:38 and was able to catch Baylor's Chelsea Orr in the last 300-meters of the race to catapult Utah into first place. The Utes also competed in the sprint medley relay. The relay comprised of Rhianna Williams, Mesa Weidle, Caitie Faust and Christine Van Brocklin recorded a time of 4:07.61 to earn fourth in their heat and 13th overall. Utah finished fourth in the HyVee Cup standings. The HyVee Cup is the award that goes to the team with the best team score in the 4x100, 4x200, 4x400, 4x800, sprint medley and distance medley.
