' ", ..> " , . ' ~ ' . r\ , .-. . .. . ... / r ' /~[;L/~(.- j~tL Leo P. Harvey; Leo P. Harvey, 89, Pleasant · Grove, died Wednesday, Jan. I, 1986 at his home. He was born May I, 1896 in Pleasant Grove, a son of Jonathan L. and Helen Alexander Harvey. He married Arville Christensen on Oct. 3, 1917 in Salt Lake City. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was educated in Pleasant Grove schools and attended Utah State University. He was a High Priest in the Pleasant Grove 5th Ward and held numerous positions in the church organizations. He was active in soil conservation on the local, state and national levels. He also served on the Utah Water and Power Board and Central Utah Conservancy District for many years. He spearheaded many of the successful watershed projects in North Utah County. He served on the Pleasant Grove City Council for 12 years. He was a veteran of World War 1. He was a successful businessman and a progressive farmer. Survivors include his wife of Pleasant Grove; five sons: Gene Harvey and J.H. Harvey, both of American. Fork; Kennet.h Harvey, James Harvey and David Harvey, all of Pleasant Grove; 28 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; a sister, Lucille Walker, Pleasant Grove. A son, Richard, preceded him in death . Services were held Saturday in the Pleasant Grove Stake Center. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. . Funeral services were under the direction of Bishop Frank Mills . of the Pleasant Grove Fifth Ward. Pall bearers were grandsons Richard Harvey, Ronald Harvey, Craig Harvey, Stanley Harvey, Paul Harvey, Jeff Harvey, Michael Harvey, Mark Harvey, John Harvey and Steven Harvey . ' Honorary pallbearers " were Earl A. Beck, Dennis Gurr, Thomas Larson, Ronald Proctor, Wesley Jense, Paul Richards, Dean Peterson, Stanley Walker and Howard Warnick. The family prayer was given by L. Eugene Hrvey. The prelude and postlude were played by Geniel S. West. Kenneth L. Harvey gave the invocation. Remarks were given by Bishop Mills. Sara Harvey gave "My Grandfather." William E. Peterson sang "How Great Thou Art," accompanied by Geniel West "Our Father" was presented by David C. Harvey. Janet Harvey Garn played an organ solo and Harold Bullock was the speaker. The benediction was by James D. Harvey and the grave was dedicated by J. H. Harvey. |
