Senior Destanae Howerton-Davis captured second in the discus to lead the Utah track and field at the Weber State Invitational on Saturday afternoon. Howerton-Davis recorded a new season-best throw measuring 161 feet, 7 inches to earn second overall. The 1500-meter race featured five Utes competing. Leading the charge for the Utes was redshirt freshman Hannah McInturff. Competing for the first time in the 2015 outdoor season, McInturff captured fourth overall with a time of 4:36.31. Ali Eisenbeiss competed unattached and recorded a time of 4:49.04 to earn tenth. Makenzie Clark crossed the line in a time of 4:53.19 for 15th. Rounding out the top five runners for Utah were Sadie Wassum, who competed unattached, in 19th (4:55.06) and Dakota Grossman in 29th (5:07.29). Senior Kia Wilson represented the Utes in the 100-meter dash. Wilson recorded a time of 13.28 seconds to earn fourth overall in the event. The 400-meter race featured two Utes competing. Leading the way for the Utes was junior Allison Aafedt. Aafedt recorded a time of 57.52 seconds to place 11th, followed by Christine Van Brocklin in 16th (58.44). |
