Chair: Mildred Sutch, phone (801) 785-2269 Photographs: Beth R. Olsen, phone (801) 785-2246 Burton Adams had this barn built on his farm in the west part of Pleasant Grove in 1935. Niels Ludwig Monson writes, "I began work on a new barn for Bishop [Burton] Adams this spring [1935] and worked most of the time on that job until July when it was finished." Adams was a successful farmer, growing mostly sugar beets and potatoes. He used the barn to house horses, milk cows, and store feed. The farm was purchased by Adams' son-inlaw, Robert James. Since his death, his widow Zoe Adams James Christensen owns the barn on what is left of the farmstead. During the last few years, the farm acreage has been sold for housing and commercial projects.
