TI1ese rooms can be arranged in many differ~nt ways by re-positioning the chai rs and tables. A beige-colored floor t ile was used throughout the building to achieve a degree of continuity. Multi-colored fiberglass chairs give add· ed brightness to the classrooms, while the use of campus brick and soft lighting accents the stair:ways. Mr. 13rixen said these multi-zone units considerably increased the cost of the first phase. The total cost of the 28,000 square-foot building was approximately $530,000. The ate owe r was the archi· tect. MR. BRIXEN said that the additions should be ready for occupany by fall, J 961. .The Education Buildi will then house all of the departments in the College of Education except home economics and physical education. Also, the .cam· pus audio-visual department will be located in this building. Facilities will be incl uded for Lhe transmission and reception of educational television. The 41 ,000 square-foot second phase wil be larger than the first, and it Is estimated that It wlll cost approximately $750,000. This brings the total cost of the proJ· Ject to over $1.2 million.
