F E T Z E R & F E T Z E R A. I.A. A R C H I T E C T S HI S T ORY We are pleased to introduce to you through this Brochure the organization and work of Fetzer and Fetzer, Architects who have provided a diverse clientele in Utah and surrounding states with the unified and complete services required on Architectural projects since 1937. Even before that date, the architectural background of Fetzer and Fetzer, Architects extends into practical experience as draftsmen, construction workmen and inspectors under the direction of their father, John Fetzer Sr., partner of Cannon and Fetzer, Architects founded in Salt Lake City in 1909. Structures of the period before 1937 included many outstanding building landmarks in the western area, among which are the Central Building, University of Utah; First Security Bank Building at Main and 1st South in Salt Lake City; West High School Building, Salt Lake City; L.D.S. Hospital West Wing, Salt Lake City; Municipal Building and complex of the Carbon College in Price, Utah; and participation in the Idaho Falls Temple for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Working on Buildings such as the above listed provided a splendid practical training for principals of Fetzer and Fetzer, Architects while they were completing their professional education at the Architectural and Engineering Colleges of the University of Pennsylvania, University of Southern California and the University of Utah. In 1937, Mr. John Fetzer Sr. formed with his three sons, Henry Fetzer, John Fetzer, and Emil Fetzer, the organization of Fetzer and Fetzer, Architects which has successfully continued on a wide variety of projects to the present day. Isolated projects have also been designed and carried out in outlying states and areas as assigned. Mr. Fetzer Sr. is now deceased. Because Emil B. Fetzer was called to be the Church Architect for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, he withdrew from the partnership to rejoin at such a time as his assignment with the Church is completed. We believe that the combined experience of the organization assures our clients that their projects will be carried out with functional efficiency, structural stability and esthetic quality within economic limits. It is impractical to list all of the projects which have been handled by a firm of Architects during a span of over forty years. Some representative projects are listed as shown in the following pages. When you are contemplating an Architectural project, Fetzer and Fetzer would appreciate the opportunity to assemble for you any information you may require.
