Description Non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION) and primary open angle glaucoma (POAG) have different morphological optic nerve head features, despite the common axonal loss and irreversible damage to the optic nerve. Characterising the optic nerve head morphology help us to understand the pathophysiology and in the clinical differentiation of this two entities.
