Description Nursing leadership plays a pivotal role in sustaining staff engagement through support, communication, and trust (Dempsey, 2016). Staff engagement is increased when the leader communicates with staff members on a regular basis (Manning & Reilly, 2016). Starting December 2015, IMRU leadership implemented scheduled quarterly conversations with all staff which resulted in improved and sustained staff engagement.
