ed by senior Sadie Wassum, the Utah cross country team finished in third place at the Utah State Open. Wassum finished the five-kilometer course in a time of 18:45.29 to take home 12th overall. Junior Hannah Allred followed behind Wassum placing 22nd with a time of 19:17.07. Right behind Allred was senior Dakota Grossman who finished with a time of 19:18.20 to capture 23rd. Finishing up the top-five scorers for Utah were junior Megan Spehar and freshman Melissa Taggart. Spehar finished in 24th right behind Grossman with a time of 19:34.67 and Taggart placed 26th with a time of 19:35.52. Junior Jade Mulvey, sophomore Nicole Griffiths, sophomore Anna Busatto, freshman Natalie Platil, and sophomore Emma Christensen also ran for the Utes. Mulvey finished in 27th with a time of 19:39.79, Griffiths placed 35th with a time of 20:06.13, Busatto earned 36th with a time of 20:09.9, Platil finished in 38th with a time of 20:27.71, and Christensen finished in 42nd with a time of 21:01.68. Utah State finished in first place with 15 points, followed by Weber State in second (56 points) and Utah in third with 79 points. |
