The role of Latin America in World War II : a reflection of inter-American solidarity

Throughout the history of inter-American relations, two significant movements have dominated the scene: the trend toward. Pan Americanism and the evolution of the Monroe Doctrine. The Pan American movement is characterized. by the attempt of independent nations in the Western Hemisphere to seek cooperation in obtaining common objectives. Whether the objectives have been cultural, economic, political or military, the movement has stressed. the need for peaceful and unified action in reaching these common goals; in short, hemispheric solidarity.
