Final Score The Utes conclude the first day at the Stanford Invitational recording several solid performances. Junior Amanda Mergaert led the team with her performance in the 1500m. Freshman Andrea Chavez competed in her first ever 1500m collegiate race. Chavez ran in section three, where she recorded a 12th-place time of 4:32.36. Representing the Utes in the 5000m was true freshman Susannah Hurst. In section three, Hurst finished 15th place with a time of 16:45.63, which is close to her personal-record performance that ranks in the top-five in school history. Competing unattached up the road at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival was redshirting senior Lucy Yates. In the 1500m run, Yates finished first overall with a time of 4:29.01. Because Yates is redshirting this season, she ran as an unattached athlete. Freshman Andrea Chavez wrapped up action at the Stanford Invitational with a good performance in the women's 800m. Chavez was the sole Utah athlete to compete on the second day of competition. She finished the 800m ninth in her heat and 50th overall clocking a time of 2:13.00.
