Description Address: 1423 Fort Doublas Blvd., Salt Lake City. Built in 1884 to serve the diverse spiritual needs of the U.S. troops stationed at the military base, it operated until 1991, when the fort was decommissioned. "University historians claim that before the fort's closure, the Post Chapel was the oldest continuously operational, multi-denominational military chapel in the United States." The area became the property of the University of Utah, and during preparation for hosting the Olympic Village for the 2002 Winter Olympics, the chapel was renovated in 2002. The historic chapel is now an interfaith house of worship and hosts activities of student religious groups.
