Keturah Peterson Merkley was one of the pioneers of the Ashley Valley. She moved to the Valley at the age of twelve with her father and mother, Peter and Mary Peterson. She married Nelson Merkley Jr. in Vernal, Utah. They had two sons, Ellis and Asher, and three daughters, Helen, Mary and Margaret. They lived on the corner of 1500 West and 500 North in Vernal for many years. She went to Salt Lake ten years prior to her death. |
