Title Hydraulic mining plan and feasibility study for an underground coal mine at mid-continent resources, inc. Middle seam in coal basin at Carbondale, Colorado
Date 1984-06
Year graduated 1984
Description This project proposes a mining system for the extraction of underground coal where mining conditions are not applicable for regular continuous miner and longwall methods. This system utilizes a modified and simplified continuous miner for cutting the coal, coupled with a hydraulic system for transportation of the coal. While hydraulic methods of mining coal in the United States are not used, many variations of the system are successfully employed for several years in other countries such as USSR, China, Canada and Japan.
