Abstract Since 2002, various reports have proposed an association between phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE-5) inhibitors and nonarteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION) (1). It has been suggested that the vasodilatory effects of the drug promote nocturnal hypotension, which itself is a suspected trigger of NAION (2).
