Title The separate-baptists in American history
Date 1980-03
Year graduated 1980
Description In the story of American religion the First Great Awakening stands out as an era where the intense religious activity changed the shape of American religious life. Out of the First Awakening came the impetus that gave the Baptist religion new life and launched it on its way to becoming one of the main denominations in America. The purpose of this paper will be to trace the beginnings, development, and eventual assimilation into mainline religious life of the Separate Baptists. As with most studies in intellectual history, this work examines the thoughts, emotions, and actions of a group of people whose ideology turned America's thinking toward political independence from England.
