John McAndrews came to Ashley Valley in 1884 and was appointed chief herder at the Ouray Indian Reservation for the Army. In 1892 he resigned from the Indian service and took the position of Uintah Railway superintendent. John is the husband of Cora Vangundy McAndrews. He passed away October 6, 1927. |
