Title Religious and cultural values as expressed through foodways in a Mormon community
Date 1991-08
Year graduated 1991
Description In this paper, it will be argued that the religious and cultural values upheld by this community are indeed revealed through their foodways. Moreover, it will be demonstrated that this group's food practices are not only directly related to the doctrines taught by the Mormon church, but also reflect the strong traditional values that have been passed down by the Mormon pioneers who first occupied the Salt Lake Valley in the mid 1800's.
