Title The Japanese zaibatsu: Its dissolution, revival, and role in the reconstruction of the Japanese economy
Date 1972-06
Year graduated 1972
Description It is an injustice to an institution as complex as the Japanese zaibatsu to attempt to cover its development after World War II in 30 or 40 pages. However, in spite of the fact that there are several books in the library of the University of Utah written about the postwar development of the Japanese economy, there is no book which deals only with the zaibatsu which played a critical role in that development. Therefore, though the treatment of this subject is general in nature, it is hoped that it will provide a better understanding of a unique Japanese economic institution, and be a contribution to the University's fine library.
