Description For patients who present with symptoms of IIH, diagnostic criteria require lumbar puncture (LP) to confirm increased intracranial pressure and rule out other diagnoses,[1] such as infection or malignancy. However, LP is an invasive procedure, and can be associated with adverse events such as post-dural puncture headaches. There has been little prior research to investigate the frequency with which the LP changes the initial suspicion of IIH in typical patients.
