Subject Optic Neuropathy
Description Recurrent non-arteritic ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION) in the same eye is very rare.1 There have been only a few prior reports of ipsilateral recurrence of non-arteritic ischemic optic neuropathy happening more than twice.2-4 Sometimes worsening of field loss in the early stage, which is known to occur in around a third of cases, is misclassified as a recurrent event. We present two cases of patients who both suffered three distinct episodes interpreted as NAION.
