Description Hazel Wardle, one of the Legendary Cowboys for the Dinosaur Roundup Rodeo, rides in a horse pulled buggy during the rodeo parade. Hazel lived in a small cabin near Pelican Lake with her husband Austin since 1927. She helped her husband with the Ouray Post Office. When he died she took over as post mistress. After retiring from the post office she worked for the Ute Tribe as a social worker. She was a friend to the Ute people who called her "Nu Match" or Indian Woman. She had published a Ute Indian dictionary of words and phrases. She died Januray 7, 1998.
