William John Gardiner was born September 28, 1875 in Pleasant Grove, Utah. He is the son of John Henry and Eliza Watts Gardiner. The family came to the Uinta Basin when he was eight years-old. They settled in Naples. What education he recieved was at the Merrell Ward School house. He was a mason by trade and built many of the early brick homes and businesses. He also helped lay the brick for the tabernacle. He married Amy Ann Collier on Sept 30, 1898 and they made their home in Naples, Utah. Amy died on July 28th, 1921, leaving him to raise five of the nine children born to this union. |
