Dr Langell attended El Camino Community College (Torrance), 1986-87 and earned his BS in Biology from UCLA in 1991. Dr Langell received both his PhD (1997) and MD degrees (1999) from Drexel University (Philadelphia). Dr Langell received his MPH from the University of Texas Medical Branch in 2006 and MBA from the University of Utah in 2013. Dr Langell did his surgical training at Stanford University Medical Center from 1999-2006 and was a resident at the NASA-Johnson Space Center/University of Texas Medical Branch from 2002-04. In 2003, Dr Langell was an astronaut finalist at the NASA/Johnson Space Center Houston, Texas. Dr came to the University of Utah in 2006 as assistant professor of surgery from 2006-16 and later associate professor from 2016-19. Dr Langell was chief of general surgery at the George E. Wahlen VA Medical Center from 2007-15. Dr Langell was Vice Dean of the School of Medicine from 2014-19 and Executive Director of the Center for Medical Innovation from 2012-19. Dr Langell is currently President of Northeastern Ohio Medical University (Rootstown). |
