Description |
Fish are planted in the High Uinta Lakes by airplane. Forty pounds of Brook trout, were dropped from 125 feet in Hopper, Goose, Mirror and Chimney Rock Lakes. The operation opened a new phase in the history of fish planting, being the first time such a project has been carried out in the State of Utah. The specially-equipped planed belonged tot he Colorado Fish and Game Commission and was operating in Vernal to show Utah Fish and Game officials the new technique in fish planting. The fish compartments feed the fish into a hopper with a door that drops the fish into space and down into the lake. |
