Further Information This photograph is a copy of the original and is in very good condition. However, the quality of the image is subpar. On the back of the photograph, inscribed in pen, is: "J. Elliott Fisher," "J. Elliot Fisher," "1941-1942". There is also yellow adhesive brushed on the back of the photo. Fisher served as the Dean and Professor of Psychology and Philosophy at Westminster College from 1941 to 1942. He was born on November 1, 1904, in Canton, China, where his parents were Presbyterian missionaries. He received his A.B. from Oberlin College, his M.A. from Columbia University's Teachers College, and completed course work for his Ph.D. at New York University's School of Education; he completed additional graduate work at the University of London, New York University, the University of Pennsylvania, and the School of International Studies at Geneva, Switzerland. Before serving as Dean, he served in various roles such as being a faculty member at Robert College in Istanbul, Turkey, and a psychologist for the New York City Bureau of Child Guidance and the Board of Education.
