Further Information This photograph was transferred from the School of Nursing, Westminster College, to the Archives, Giovale Library, on August 2006. This photograph is matted with blue cardboard in addition to being under glass. The wooden frame artistically has four dark blue painted squares on each of the corners and the sides are rounded on top. There are few scratches on the frame and the photograph's own border is gaining some tarnish. On the back, a wire is tied across and a single phrase in pencil is written in cursive, stating, "Do not discard this. [D. W.]" In addition, there are several black smudges on the cardboard backing. Florence Nightingale is a prominent nurse of the 1800s who advocated the reformation of sanitation methods in hospitals and brought respect to the practice of nursing.
