Show Students gather on a bleacher around the entrance of Ferry Hall. The photo has been taken from a southwest angle. The first row sits and one boy in the front is bending a sapling planted in front of him. Herbert Ware Reherd, the then President of Westminster College, stands beside the bleachers wearing his usual hat. Another man in a light suit crouches beside him. In the distance, there is Converse Hall to the left, and before it there is a tree covered in leaves. The background is mostly composed of sky. |

The photograph is in good condition. The corners and edges are a little torn and wrinkled. There is a narrow white border around the photo. "Student Body 1922-23" is written in black ink on the bottom margin. On the back there is some dried glue. Two black ink lines run vertically across it. The number "2½" is written in pencil, with arrows drawn beside it to mark the width between the two black lines. Below one of the black lines, the words "5" wide" are written, also in pencil. Another penciled number reads "33,202" (underlined). Some black ink reads "Student Body 1922-23" and "Westminster College [,] Salt Lake City Utah." A purplish stamp in the center reads "SHIPLERS [,] COMMERCIAL PHOTOGRAPHERS [,] SALT LAKE CITY". Ferry Hall began construction on October 10, 1907 and was finished two years later due to lack of funding. The hall bore the name of Colonel William and Jeannette Ferry, Park City residents who contributed $15,000 of the $25,000 needed to erect the hall. The Ferries... |
