Nurses in Chapel

A group photograph of eight student nurses posing in a chapel. The student nurses are standing single file holding hymnals and appear to be singing a hymn. The students nurses are wearing pin striped semi-dark dresses covered with aprons tied at the waist and white shoes. They also wear nurse's caps with their hair pulled on top of their heads. The chapel has a slightly vaulted ceiling. A light fixture is seen glowing directly above the nurses at far left. In the background, against the wall is a three spire triptych. The triptych is mini replica of a chapel built against the center of the wall with a cross in the fore center. An alter sits directly below the triptych. Placed in the center on top is a large cross, flowers placed on either side of the cross, and a triple tier candle holder placed on either side of the flowers. On the left side is a mural painted in an archway indented in the wall. The mural is of a winged angel with a crucifix above her head. On the far right is another mural with the same manner of indented archway. This mural is more elaborate with a winged angel standing behind three other angels who appear to be kneeling. An American flag appears next to this mural along the far right hand side of the photograph. The student nurses are standing in front of pews which dominate the foreground. The hymn book holders affixed to the back of the pews are empty.
