A photograph of nurses graduating from St. Mark's School of Nursing, class of 1949. The graduates are all young women, dressed in nursing uniforms donned with nursing caps. The nurses are standing in a semi circle, shoulder to shoulder holding oil lamp shaped holders with lit candles. One nurse is standing in front of the semi circle. She appears to be a prominent leader of the group as she is wearing a corsage on her shoulder. The nurses are posing for the photograph in a well furnished room. They stand in front of a large light colored door. The floor is covered with an area rug or possibly a parquet wood floor. The walls are light colored and there are two mounted double light-bulb fixtures attached to the wall on either side of the door above the nurse's heads. Two photographs are mounted on the wall and are partially visible between the heads of the three nurses at the far right. There is a great deal of furniture partially visible behind the nurses such as chairs, lamp shade, and a piano.
