| Description |
Mr. Simper was born August 3, 1884 in Salt Lake City. He married Eunice Bowthorpe in the Salt Lake Temple in 1906. They moved to Vernal in 1907 by horse and wagon. The trip took nine days. He was put in as the first Bishop of Davis Ward on December 20, 1912. He served as their Bishop for 27 years. He then served as Sunday School Superintendent for 29 years. His wife Eunice died October 15, 1970. They are parents of seven children, Roy, Jay, Lyle, Mrs. Ray (Lena) Hamson and Mrs. Harold (Lorene) Anderson. (NOTE: Bishop Simper died in September 1995 at the age of 101.) |
