Description Contract for the Cart Creek Bridge was awarded to U.S. Steel, American Bridge Division of Denver, Colorado, at a low bid of $768,782. The bridge will be the longest single-span in the State of Utah with a 550-foot span. State officials gathered in December, 1962 for the dedication. The total cost of the bridge was $810,000. The bridge is a link to Flaming Gorge for the construction workers of the Dam. The graceful bridge at Cart Creek won an award of merit from the American Institute of Steel Construction for its beauty. The graceful arch serves as a model for two other bridges built in Utah.
