Abstract Stephen Dubois (b. 1916) was born in Mankato, Minnesota. He discusses his family, the Depression and working as a school teacher. He was drafted into the Army in August 1941. He first went to Texas for boot camp; received anti-aircraft training near Los Angeles; and attended Officer Candidate School in South Carolina. He was assigned to an anti-aircraft battery in Panama, where he stayed for the duration of the war. After being discharged in December 1945, he worked for the State of California for over 30 years. Interviewed by Winston Erickson. 19 pages.
