| Description | Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leaks complicate 2% of all head trauma and occur in 12-30% of all basilar skull fractures. Otorrhea or rhinorrhea are more common presentations, although rarely, CSF may leak into the orbit (orbitocele) or the eyelid (blepharocele). Only a handful of cases have been described in the past 55 years. Most of these have occurred in children, which may be due to the immaturity of a childs frontal sinus. |
