| Creator | Jasmine Gopwani; Edward Margolin |
| Affiliation | University of Toronto, Toronto, ON, Canada |
| Subject | Horner's Syndrome; Central Venous Catheterization; Ultrasonography-Assisted Insertion |
| Description | Isolated case studies of patients with Horners Syndrome post Central Venous Catheterization (CVC) have been well documented in the past [5-8], however the frequency of Horners Syndrome to the authors knowledge has not been documented since the introduction of ultrasonography-assisted insertion which has been documented to decrease the prevalence of the more common complications of CVC such as pnuemothorax [3][4]. This study aims to determine the frequency of Horners Syndrome and to determine whether these practices have decreased its frequency in patients who have undergone CVC placement. |
