Subject Pituitary Apoplexy; Lupus Anticoagulant; Antiphospholipid Antibody
Description The lupus anticoagulant (LA) is one of the antiphospholipid antibodies (aPL) that belongs to a heterogeneous family of autoantibodies. LA prolongs the phospholipid-dependent coagulation assay and is more specific but less sensitive for patients at risk for thromboembolic events compared to other aPL such as anticardiolipin antibodies (aCL). The aPL are a group of antibodies that have been strongly associated with an antiphospholipid syndrome (APS).
